Students will be introduced to the elements of digital graphic design through an image processing and manipulation context. Upon completion of the course students will have an understanding of digital image properties and apply the features of Photoshop to modify images as desired.

Prerequisites: Adobe Photoshop

This course provides the basic knowledge and application of Adobe Illustrator. Students will be introduced to the properties of digital graphic design through a vector based drawing application. Similar in operation to the popular Adobe Photoshop, however mainly different in intentions and usages. Knowledge gained in this course will allow students to create images, layout displays, and bring together multiple independent items into a final product, in an efficient and professional manner.

Course title: Adobe InDesig(Graphic Design Integration)

Course length in hours: 50

Prerequisites: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

This course provides the basic knowledge and application of Adobe InDesign. Material taught will introduce students to final product layout design and publishing. Student will gain knowledge in presentation preparation and layout design while using, applying and integrating the skills developed through Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. This course concludes the Graphic Design segment by incorporating all graphic design principles and concepts gained into a full project production.

Course title: Introduction to Web Design with HTML/CSS

Success in web design and development requires students to understand the basic knowledge of Web Design Programming. Students will be introduced to the World Wide Web and explore the fundamentals of web-design through HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

It also provides the fundamental knowledge and techniques needed to advance to more complex operations for enhancing the functionality of websites. Students will create and manage database-driven websites.

This subject is divided into two parts, beginning with an introduction to programming concepts that will provide students with the basis to syntax and basic scripting using JavaScript as a model. Part 1 will also focus on the logic of programming, good programming habits, program development/flow and design as well as basic de-bugging techniques which will prepare the student for other common programming languages (such as MySQL and PHP). Part 2 of this subject will move deeper into the JavaScript language, which is commonly used in Website development. Adobe Flash is a program commonly used for animation on the web and is often found integrated in website design, especially for marketing purposes. Using lectures and various practical exercises students will learn the techniques associated with animation. This is both an introductory and intermediate course and will be going through the programming language of ActionScript within Flash.
